Lyla Knows Colors and Shapes

Lyla is such a smart cookie! London is also, he's just not interested in learning shapes or colors yet. :)

Shout Out/Brag about Nathan

I had to do a little brag post about Nathan...
Nathan was in the Navy, therefore he has the GI bill. The GI bill enabled him to continue going to school for free. Since I'm a stay-at-home mom, he still had to work full time. So with working full time, taking care of infant twins, and going to school full time, he completed his Masters Degree in Nuclear Physics! We just went to his ceremony last month.

Along with all the above mentioned things, he also works for Marvel's database on the side. He is the busiest guy I know!
He just recently got promoted at work into a more secure position including better benefits, better security, and an increase in pay.
I'm so proud of my physicist! Great job Nathan!! :*

London is Walking!

Finally! Hahaha... Our sweet little baby boy is now officially a toddler. He is finally walking full time (as of January 16th), and it only took him 18.5 months! ;)
He has the cutest little frankenstein walk. I took a couple small video clips.

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

We have been VERY busy this week. Nathan took this week and next as vacation, and his brother is in town so we have been going 100 mph to different events. It's been so fun! I love being around family!
A quick recap on the past few days: Thursday morning we made sugar cookies at Nathan's aunt's house with the babies. Lyla LOVED it and got right into decorating the cookies. London just wanted to be left alone with his toys. He's been teething, his molars are coming in so it's been a rough month for him. Next year I know he'll be into it. Thursday night I cooked a Christmas Eve Eve dinner which consisted of Tater Tot Casserole, corn, organic spinach salad, and french wine. It was delicious!
Friday afternoon we went to a Christmas Eve service at our church. Lyla had a great time in the childcare, but London was screaming his face off when we came to pick him up. :( I think being in childcare is just something he'll get used to over time. And again, with is teeth bugging him and all.
Friday night we went to Nathan's family's Christmas Eve dinner of pizza and posole. The babies stayed up way past their bedtime, but they had a great time playing with Nathan's cousins.
Today my family came over bright and early to exchange gifts, and then we went to Nathan's parents house to exchange gifts with his family and have brunch. For lunch I met up with Dana's family and my parents at Dana's house for some yummy Mexican food. Nathan opted to stay home to sit with the babies while they napped. At 6:00 we had a delicious Christmas dinner, back at Nathan's parent's house.
I'm actually really sad that Christmas is over! But on the 28th is my sister-in-law's birthday which will be really fun. Then on the 29th, it's MY BIRTHDAY!! It's going to rock this year! We're having a big party at my sister's house, complete with a fondue dinner and dessert, followed by dancing to Just Dance on the Wii. That game is SO fun! I can't wait!
Then of course there's New Years! We're going to this bash that should be really awesome. My mother-in-law offered to babysit. I have the best family! :)

First Santa Pic

The twinks were so happy waiting in line to see Santa. They had never seen him before, so they didn't really know what was going on.
It was our turn, we took them out of the stroller and straight onto Santa's lap. They immediately started crying! It was like a switch!

Fall Photo Shoot

Dana set up a family photo shoot for all of us at the end of October. The weather was still slightly warm, however the morning air was chilly!!! We went to the bosque and it was gorgeous.
The photographer was Kim Jackson. I think the photos turned out beautiful!

London is *Almost* Walking!

London has been cruising easily along furniture and things for a month or so now. He's taken steps here and there, sometimes up to 10 steps at a time, but he hasn't started to consistently walk yet. He just doesn't have his confidence quite there, but I'm sure he will soon.
I took some video of him taking some steps. I just love the way the babies walk when they are first learning, it's so cute!

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a great Thanksgiving. We spent the morning watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and I baked turkey cupcakes. They turned out great and were a big hit!



We first went over to my sister's, Dana's, house and had a nice feast. I tried to put the babies down at her house, but it just wasn't happening. So they played and watched their favorite show Yo Gabba Gabba.
Chau (Dana's husband) is a fantastic cook and he roasted a turkey and made stuffing, cornbread, sweet potato casserole, and all kinds of other stuff. It was delicious and we had a great time playing some Rock Band after we ate.
We came home and let the babies take a little snooze and then headed out to Nathan's aunt's house. Again, there was a fantastic feast of food. Turkey, mashed potatoes, all the Thanksgiving greats. Nathan's 2nd cousins who are all under 10, had fun playing with the babies.
We went home that night feeling exhausted, but it was a great day! Here's a few pictures...

I am thankful for so many things. I'm thankful for having two beautiful children that are healthy and happy and the loves of my life. I'm so thankful for Nathan for being such a great father, husband, and my best friend. I'm thankful for family who continue to help us when we need it, and even when we don't. I'm thankful for an awesome church with great childcare. I could go on and on!
Now, bring on Christmas!!!! :)
